About R&K Photographic

R and K Photographic was started in 1998 by Roger Holfert. Roger has been a working photographer for most of his working life, specialising in monochrome landscapes and social events. In 1974 he gained an Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society. Now living and working in Cornwall he sells his work through galleries and the Internet and accepts commissions if locally based.

    With the increasing use of digital imaging, the company expanded to specialise in the high quality scanning of traditional film. Roger still prefers to use traditional film in preference to digital originals, but with the convenience of computer based output now uses this technology for most of his work.

    The scanning aspect of the business really took off in 2000 when Roger realised that there were many like minded photographers who wanted to move into computer based output but were put off by the cost of quality scanners and the time it took to produce high resolution scans.

In a "Digital Scan to Archive" guide in Practical Photography magazine August 2002 the company gained the highest score of the test against national companies.

    An excellent client base has been achieved and is expanding steadily. Roger likes to keep the business on as personal level as possible offering advice and encouragement when appropriate. He now works also for many professional photographers, agencies, art galleries and web developers where this personal and friendly relationship is appreciated.
